The Trials and Tribulations of New Technology

We all know that progress is a good thing…especially when it comes to new and innovative technology.  At RR we have just implemented a new database system that can work wonders and will make our processes so much more efficient in the long run. In short term, we are navigating through the trials and tribulations of the new technology learning curve. Looking forward to fully mastering the new system and all of its benefits, and packing our patience and taking deep breaths in the meantime!

Zodiac Aerospace

Last week I visited our client Zodiac Aerospace in New Jersey. They are a fascinating company, as they manufacture slides and inflatable ramps for aircraft. Let's hope we never need them, but after seeing their facility and process, I feel safer!

Jeff Zinser Participating In "Power Posing" Round Table Panel With Amy Cuddy

We are really excited about this upcoming event!  Our very own Jeff Zinser has been invited by the Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia to be a round table panelist for a discussion featuring Harvard-based social psychologist, Amy Cuddy on February 24th.  Amy’s TED Talk on “power posing” made her the #2 biggest TED speaker in the world. The panel will discuss the enthralling science and cutting edge techniques underlying the fascinating connections between mind and body.  Jeff is very pleased to be participating, and looks forward to sharing his perspective on the topic in relation to employers, employees and the hiring process.

Growth Matters Event

I recently attended a very interesting event hosted by GPCC regarding the resurgence of manufacturing activity in the region.  It was a collaborative event that brought together leaders in the industry and stakeholders in sectors linked to it. The event featured a thought provoking panel that generated a productive discussion and sharing of ideas.  One of the issues touched upon was meeting the demand for skilled professionals as the regional industry expands.  It was a great opportunity to focus on forward thinking opportunities, and what each of us in attendance can do promote and prepare for growth. From a recruiting standpoint, this was especially of interest and we are looking forward to doing our part to help the industry thrive.

Wishing a very bright, happy new year to my HR colleagues, and looking forward to great things in 2016.

Hello 2016!

Late December, that time of year when many of us are busy with shopping, family, and holiday festivities. Board meetings take a backseat to the office holiday party, and seems like from a business sense things slow down.  However, from a recruiting standpoint, this is actually a pretty busy time!  As we roll into the New Year, companies often have new budgets to consider, revised business plans and new organizational structure. These factors can have a huge impact on hiring and employment decisions.

From a candidate perspective, as the year comes to an end it is often a time of reflection. A time to take stock and evaluate what their career goals are and if they are in the best position/company to make them a reality.  The New Year can be a catalyst to make a change.

December has been a very busy month for us in preparation. We plan to hit the ground running in 2016 and expect January to be a very active month in recruiting for both companies and candidates alike. So cheers to 2015, and hello 2016 we’re ready for you!
